The Incheon Metropolitan City Government announced that it held the "3rd Meeting of the 2024 Incheon Blockchain Collaborative Council" at Michuhol Tower on November 13.
The "Incheon Blockchain Collaborative Council," launched in September last year, is composed of blockchain demand and supply companies in the Incheon region. The council is divided into four sectors: tourism and digital content, logistics, distribution, and smart factories, bio and healthcare, and daily convenience. It works to identify ideas for proof-of-concept (PoC) projects and the integration of blockchain technology into existing industries, promoting a range of collaborative activities.
At this meeting, six blockchain-specialized companies participated, including ZKRYPTO, FutureSense, RoboWorks, Leadpoint System, NFTIME, and GOODWILLHUNTING. They presented initiatives identified through collaboration between demand and supply companies, such as "Supply Chain Traceability for School Meal Ingredients" and "Logistics Management Services for Smart Factories."
Additionally, around 20 members of the Incheon Blockchain Promotion Team, active since last year, attended to listen to the initiatives identified by the collaborative council and offered a variety of feedback.
Yoo Jae-beom, Director of Future Industry at Incheon City, stated, “The Incheon Blockchain Collaborative Council has achieved visible outcomes in fostering cooperation between demand and supply companies and in integrating blockchain technology into the region’s specialized industries. We will continue to support blockchain technology next year to further contribute to the development of Incheon and the growth of its businesses.”
Meanwhile, Incheon City is accelerating the establishment of an innovation growth hub to comprehensively support the founding, growth, and service development and validation of blockchain technology companies. In collaboration with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and Incheon Technopark, the city is preparing to open the "Blockchain Technology Innovation Support Center" at Michuhol Tower in Songdo International City in early December.
Through collaborative activities within the Incheon Blockchain Collaborative Council, this center is expected to serve as a hub where local blockchain companies can cooperate and integrate new technologies.
