Raonsecure, in collaboration with the Korea Digital Authentication Association, has appointed the first advisory board for the "DID Open Source Project," comprising over 10 experts in decentralized identity (DID), digital authentication, and cybersecurity.

Earlier, at the end of October, Raonsecure launched the "OmniOne Open DID" project site by publishing the source code of its blockchain-based digital ID platform, OmniOne Digital Identity, on the global open-source sharing site GitHub. The initiative aims to provide developers worldwide with opportunities to contribute to K-DID technology.

Professor Hyung-Yeol Yum, an honorary professor at Soonchunhyang University and former chair of the ITU-T SG17 (International Telecommunication Union's Study Group on Security), has been appointed as the chair of the advisory board. Other members include prominent figures such as Professor Soo-Yong Park of Sogang University, Professor Jae-Cheol Ryu of Chungnam National University, Professor Hang-Bae Jang of Chung-Ang University, Professor Hyun-Ok Oh of Hanyang University, Professor Jong-Hyuk Lee of Sejong University, Avi Barber, chair of IDTrust, David Lopez, Philippine Department of Information and Communications Technology Undersecretary, Jong-Gap Kim, CEO of GDIN, and Dr. Tae-Hyung Kim of UN ESCAP.

Lee Soon-Hyung, CEO of Raonsecure, stated, “This is a significant step in showcasing the excellence of K-DID technology in the global digital authentication field. We expect the advisory board to contribute not only to mobile ID projects but also to various initiatives leveraging open-source technology to benefit humanity.”

Ki-Hyuk Lee, Chairman of the Korea Digital Authentication Association, remarked, “K-DID has high potential to expand globally, much like K-pop and K-food. The expertise of the advisory board will help advance the project, and contributors will elevate its overall quality.”

Chairman Hyung-Yeol Yum commented, “This project aims to standardize the technology used in the Korean government’s mobile ID internationally and promote the global adoption of K-DID. The advisory board will spare no effort in leveraging its expertise and capabilities to accelerate the expansion of the K-DID global ecosystem through open source.”
